TwHistory: Allowing learners to experience historical events

OLnet is teaming up with TwHistory to explore opportunities for allowing learners to experience history, not only as re-enactment observers, but as participants as well. Some of the actions we plan to take include:
1. Identifying communities of learners who share a common interest in a historical event and invite these learners to participate in creating the TwHistory re-enactments.
2. Linking well-documented historical events - audio and video clips - in the UK and worldwide, through the TwHistory stream.
3. Linking the tweets to OER content from OpenLearn
4. Examine the re-enactment process and finding ways to make it easy for teachers and learners to create TwHistory feeds.
5. Exploring if this is a meaningful, effective and engaging ways for students to learn and interact with history and to what extent it assists teachers in their teaching.

Excited for OLnet-TwHistory collaboration!
We are so please to be able to team up with the OLnet community! OpenLearn provides a wealth of high quality OER content relating to history (and teaching with technology), which can provide the basis for many more TwHistory reenactments, in terms of content as well as community. We look forward to working with OLnet.
There is so much historical
There is so much historical historical content on the web, and this can be an exciting way to organize, share, and broadcast it to those who are interested. We're excited to work with OLnet.
