OLnet & OER: how do our practices reflect and inform the world out there?
Welcome to the OLnet pilot virtual workshop. The aim of this workshop is to serve as a test bed for the OLnet team and guests on how to run a virtual workshop on OER (structure, tools, activities etc).
This week we aim to use the UNESCO OER Toolkit, the OER Handbook and the OpenLearn Final Report as sources of information to prompt our discussions and reflections.
The plan is for us to reflect upon our own practices and discuss the ways in which we can better serve the OER community through our research, at the same time drawing on the community needs to drive our work.
The workshop is running from 7th-11th Dec 2009, entirely online and counting on both synchronous and asynchronous activities and events. The activities and discussions will be released day by day, so please refer to the section "A. Programme" everytime you want to know what is going on.
Feel free to participate as much or as little as you can, but remember that the more you engage with the programme the better will be the overall outcome, because it is our collaborative work that will make it all happen!
Enjoy it!

Resources
This list of useful resources has been copied from the Cloud "Stall: OERs" that was created by Rebecca Galley to aggregate tools, resources and discussion around Open Educational Resources (OERs) and the finding, use and reuse of these. This was used to support the Brunel Blended Design Workshop. You can either use the links below or access them from the original Cloud: http://cloudworks.ac.uk/index.php/cloud/view/2556
The OLnet virtual workshops
The OLnet International Virtual Workshops aim to engage practitioners, researchers and policy-makers in discussing OER practices at various levels. The workshops are offered to cater for all: from the more experienced practitioner to the novice educator wishing to experiment with OER. The workshops also cater for both institutions which are contemplating the creation of an OER initiative and the ones which aim to share their experiences and evaluation practices.
