OpenEd 2.0
OpenEd 2.0 is funded under the EC Life Long Learning programme to pilot new forms of learning with OER. The Open University role is to develop an open resource to support the learning of research methods and then study how this can be the basis for different types of learning experience across other European universities, business organizations and informal learners.
The first project meeting took place on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 December 2009 in Brussels and OLnet's Patrick McAndrew and Doug Clow attended with James Aczel. More information to follow...
HMA Partner Presentation
As a well established training provider, the role of HMA will consist of the local provision of the course H809. HMA will further assist in adjusting the course to meet the local needs of its members. Within this HMA will establish a local course team to modify, adapt or translate course materials where appropriate, or to inform the partnership about local demands to be taken into account.
AUTH Partner Presentation
AUTH will be the lead partner of the openEd technical (support) framework (WP4) and provide programming and design services for the open course environment as identified by the partnership. AUTH will further provide technical learner support throughout the 3 consecutive pilots. The work of AUTH will include (A) the initial definition (RSD) and implementation of the technological framework and (B) the amendment of the course environments during the 3 consecutive pilot rounds in accordance to e.g.
OU Partner Presentation
The OU is bringing into this project the web-based course H809 ‘Practice Based Research in Educational Technology’ to be run as a free and open pilot course within this project in a modified version to fit with the needs of the academic and enterprise partners and networks involved in the project. The OU would lead WP3 and WP6 and will promote the course to its usual student population and within its associated networks. The OU would also co-lead WP7 on Quality Assurance.
SPI Partner Presentation
SPI is the project coordinator. SPI’s activities as coordinator will comprise the coordination and overall project management, development of the project's activities and legal issues. SPI will be actively involved in all the project’s phases, either through its coordination activities (WP1) or through bringing in experts’ knowledge. SPI’s activities also include dissemination and publication of the project results, attendance of conferences, and the project evaluation.
