This seminar will focus on practice learning and the boundary between study and workplace. It will draw on teaching and learning opportunities in two domains - Business and Management, and Social Work - combining evidence about both technology and pedagogy. It reflects the HEFCE Teaching and Learning strategy's emphasis on technology as playing a fundamental role in higher education but with institutional contexts and strategies as key. It is addressed primarily at enhancement i.e. improving existing processes and outcomes.

Open educational resources by their very nature are materials that have been designed to be re-usable. So the EVOLUTION project is running a workshop that will provide participants with an introduction to the concepts of Re-usable Learning Objects (RLOs). It will also explore Generative Learning Objects (GLOs) developed by the RLO CETL project and then participants will be provided with a hands on session that will enable them to develop learning objects using the GLO Maker 2.0 tool.
